Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance

Currently, I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. You can reach out directly to your insurance provider to ask about your coverage and your copay or patient responsibility. I can also verify your benefits once your intake is scheduled.

If you have another type of insurance, you can call the number on the back of the card and ask about out of network benefits for outpatient mental health services using telehealth. Often, people find that services might be covered up to 80% of the total cost. I'm happy to provide you with a Superbill for reimbursement purposes, which you would then submit to your insurance company yourself for reimbursement.

If you are unable to use insurance or choose not to use insurance, you can pay privately for sessions out of pocket.

Service Rates

Private pay rates for Individual therapy are $175 for the initial intake session and $150 for each additional session moving forward. â€‹

Reflective supervision is $150 for an hour and $125 for 45 minutes.

I do offer a sliding scale rate, please send me a message to ask about current availability and to determine eligibility.

Payments

Copays and session payments are due on the day of the appointment and will be charged to your card on file. This makes it simple and efficient, ensuring no surprise payments. All billing records can be accessed easily on your patient portal.

The telehealth platform I use partners with Stripe to help ensure your credit card information is kept secured and also offers payment through the use of an FSA or HSA card.

Telehealth

Our sessions will take place virtually on a secured HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform called Sessions Health. You will receive an email and/or text message with a link for our session and you can join the session in any internet browser.

While telehealth makes accessing therapy easier than ever, licensing laws require clients to be located in the state(s) a therapist is licensed in, which is Rhode Island and Massachusetts at this time.

AI policy

I do NOT use AI (artificial intelligence) in any part of treatment, including as a tool for writing notes, recording sessions for summarization, or for treatment planning.
